If you've been following me on social media for a while, you might be aware that a close friend of mine recently got married. Not only was it a wonderful experience to help a friend plan her big day, but it also made me realise that Pinterest, as much as we love it, can send a girl crazy! My friend spent hours pinning - at first it was very exciting & the ideas were flowing, however, after a few hours, panic & complete confusion set in. This inspired me to develop this service (& help a friend in need, of course!).
After doing more research, I realised there was a lot of people out there who have great style & a sense of taste, but get overwhelmed with so many ideas & get a bit lost. Has this ever happened to you; you're trying to make a decision, on a colour scheme for instance and you keep toying between different ideas & end up getting nowhere? I hope to solve those kinds of issues with my wedding & event moodboard styling service.
What is a moodboard?
So, you may be wondering 'what is a moodboard'? A moodboard is a selection of carefully curated images that show a particular style and feel. These are often used by creative professionals so that all team members are on the same page about what they are creating.
I've worked with moodboards in the fashion industry for years and after helping my friend with her wedding I realised these would be great as an inexpensive alternative to the traditional wedding styling/planning services.
How will it help me?
By having a moodboard - a concrete visual and written definition of what your event will look like, you can create a really cohesive look. Everything will fit in and work together well & you'll also avoid any clashing colours, styles or themes. Not only will you be clear in your mind about what you are having, you can also share the styling board with your vendors & suppliers & use terminology on the written description, to get your ideas across. In my experience, one of the main issues when several people are working on one project, is communication. If you have something clear to show everyone involved, I believe this will make the whole process a lot smoother.
What do I get?
I'll ask you some questions about your style & any ideas you already have for your big day. After that, I'll put together a unique moodboard based on your answers. The moodboard will be A4 in size so it can be easily printed at home (or larger if you would like) & will include inspiration images, a colour scheme & font suggestions. I'll also provide a written description of the style for you, so you can easily forward this on to any suppliers that you are working with. You'll have at least 2 opportunities to review and make changes, before I send the final files to you. The service usually takes around 10 days from receiving your answers, but I can usually do it faster if you are in a rush - just ask me.
I also offer 20% off my custom printable stationary (invites, RSVPs, menus....everything you'll need for your event), for everyone who uses the styling service.
By the end of the process, you'll have a clear vision of your big day - the look & feel, the colours, the theme, plus ideas & inspiration for the details. If you don't then I'll go back and work on it some more for you! The custom package costs £39 (approx $50USD), which is a fraction of the price of a traditional wedding or event planner.
